The Usage Of The Words Soul And Hell Have Been Misused
The misunderstanding and usage of the words soul and hell has been a grave hurt to the body of Christ and the believers.
The translators of the bible were scholars and not believers. Some of the newer translations are just to appeal to people to make money and some of it is just the work of the devil being misleading. Sometime down the line I will get to that.
We’re dealing with the word soul because the misunderstanding of the word is hurting people that need to be healed and delivered. You are a living soul. When you die you are a dead soul. We’re going to continue to examine the word soul. In the second chapter of Acts there’s an argument with Peter trying to make people understand Jesus is the one who rose; the son of David. The scriptures are speaking of Jesus not the David of old.
Acts 2:22 (KJV) 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus (Yahshua) of Nazareth, a man approved of God (the Creator) among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God (the Creator) did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
The name Jesus there is really Yahshua meaning the name Yah the Father and shua salvation.
Acts 2:23-26 (KJV) 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God (the Creator), ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord (the covenant keeping God) always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
When it talks about his flesh rests in hope it’s talking about Yahshua or Jesus himself was going to be put in the grave (hell) and would raise from the dead.
Acts 2:27-28 (KJV) 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (will not leave me in the grave), neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
Peter is quoting an old covenant prophesy of the Lord.
Acts 2:29-31 (KJV) 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God (the Creator) had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
He’s talking about King David’s prophesy and promise to him. The word hell there in scripture means the pit or grave. It does not mean down where it burning and torture; the translators where unfaithful in translating that.
Acts 2:32 (KJV) 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
When they said the Holy Ghost, they really reversed the order of it. It’s really pneuma hagion meaning the spirit that’s holy. When apostle quoted that scripture he was quoting the scriptures in Psalms chapter sixteen verse eight.
Psalm 16:5-11 (KJV) 5 The LORD (Yahweh) is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD (the covenant keeping god, yahweh), who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD (the covenant keeping god) always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Otherwise he’s going to be dead but he died in hope and knowledge. He will be raised.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell (pit or grave is translated hell); neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
He didn’t rot away.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
The scripture lets us know he was not going to have his soul left in hell. People wouldn’t be praying to the dead if they understood.
Acts 2:24 (KJV) 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth (Yahshua), a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Here you can see it’s not talking about Jesus being in hell, the judgement place of judgement. He was in a pit or hole in the ground. At that point he was a dead soul. We’re going to look at the usage of the word soul. The important thing about it is you are a living soul. If the pastors and teachers let people know they are a living soul and the Lord wants to make the soul whole and rescue you from death- more people would receive their healing even if you have a disease or illness that can kill you.
We’re going to do a journey through the usage of the word soul.
Psalm 33:18-22 (KJV) 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD (the covenant keeping god) is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 19 To deliver their soul (nephesh) from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul (we as a person) waiteth for the LORD (Yahweh): he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O LORD (o covenant keeping god), be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
This Is Appendix 131 From The Companion Bible. "Hell" is the English rendering of two different Greek words in the New Testament The English word is from the Anglo-Saxon hel, Genitive case helle = a hidden place, from the Anglo-Saxon helan = to hide. It is in the New Testament used as the translation of two Greek words :- I. Gehenna. Greek geenna. This is the transliteration of the Hebrew Gai' Hinnom, that is to say the Valley of Hinnom or "the Valley" of [the sons of] Hinnom, where were the fires through which children were passed in the worship of Moloch. In the Old Testament Tophet was the Hebrew word used, because it was a place in this valley. In our Lord's day the idolatry had ceased, but the fires were still continually burning there for the destruction of the refuse of Jerusalem. Hence, geenna was used for the fires of destruction associated with the judgment of God. Sometimes, "geenna of fire". See 2Kings 23:10. Isaiah 30:33. Jeremiah 7:31, 32; 19:11-14. Geenna occurs 12 times, and is always rendered "hell", videlicet Matthew 5:22, 29, 30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15, 33. Mark 9:43, 45, 47. Luke 12:5. James 3:6. II. Hades. Greek hades, from a (privative) and idein, to see (Appendix 133. I. i); used by the Greeks for the unseen world. The meaning which the Greeks put upon it does not concern us; nor have we anything to do with the imaginations of the heathen, or the traditions of Jews or Romanists, or the teachings of demons or evil spirits, or of any who still cling to them. The Holy Spirit has used it as one of the "words pertaining to the earth", and in so doing has "purified" it, "as silver tried in a furnace" (see notes on Psalms 12:6). From this we learn that His own words "are pure", but words belonging to this earth have to be "purified". The Old Testament is the fountain head of the Hebrew language. It has no literature behind it. But the case is entirely different with the Greek language. The Hebrew She ol is a word Divine in its origin and usage. The Greek Hades is human in its origin and comes down to us laden with centuries of development, in which it has acquired new senses, meanings, and usages. Seeing that the Holy Spirit has used it in Acts 2:27, 31 as His own equivalent of She ol in Psalm 16:10, He has settled, once for all, the sense in which we are to understand it. The meaning He has given to She ol in Psalms 16:10 is the one meaning we are to give it wherever it occurs in the New Testament, whether we transliterate it or translate it. We have no liberty to do otherwise, and must discard everything outside the Word of God. The word occurs eleven times (Matthew 11:23; 16:18. Luke 10:15; 16:23. Acts 2:27, 31. 1Corinthians 15:55. Revelation 1:18; 6:8; 20:13, 14); and is rendered "hell" in every passage except one, where it is rendered "grave" (1Corinthians 15:55, margin "hell"). In the Revised Version the word is always transliterated "Hades", except in 1Corinthians 15:55 (where "death" is substituted because of the reading, in all the texts, of thanate for hade), and in the American Revised Version also. As Hades is the Divine Scriptural equivalent of She ol, further light may be gained from Appendix 35, and a reference to the 65 passages there given. It may be well to note that while "Hades" is rendered "hell" in the New Testament (except once, where the rendering "the grave" could not be avoided), She ol, its Hebrew equivalent, occurs 65 times, and is rendered "the grave" 31 times (or 54%); "hell" 31 times (4 times with margin "the grave", reducing it to 41.5%); and "pit" only 3 times (or 4.5 %). "The grave", therefore, is obviously the best rendering, meaning the state of death (German sterbend, for which we have no English equivalent); not the act of dying, as an examination of all the occurrences of both words will show. 1. The rendering "pit" so evidently means "the grave" that it may at once be substituted for it (Numbers 16:30, 33. Job 17:16). 2. The rendering "the grave" (not "a grave", which is Hebrew keber or bor) exactly expresses the meaning of both She ol and Hades. For, as to direction, it is always down: as to place, it is in the earth: as to relation, it is always in contrast with the state of the living (Deuteronomy 32:22-25 and 1Samuel 2:6-8); as to association, it is connected with mourning (Genesis 37:34, 35), sorrow (Genesis 42:38. 2Samuel 22:6. Psalms 18:5; 116:3), fright and terror (Numbers 16:27, 34), mourning (Isaiah 38:3, 10, 17, 18), silence (Psalms 6:5; 31:17. Ecclesiastes 9:10), no knowledge (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10), punishment (Numbers 16:29, 34. 1Kings 2:6, 9. Job 24:19. Psalms 9:17 (Revised Version = re-turned)), corruption (Psalms 16:10. Acts 2:27, 31); as to duration, resurrection is the only exit from it (Psalms 16:11. Acts 2:27, 31; 13:33-37. 1Corinthians 15:55. Revelation 1:18; 20:5, 13, 14). III. Tartaroo (occurs only in 2Peter 2:4) = to thrust down to Tartarus, Tartarus being a Greek word, not used elsewhere, or at all in the Septuagint. Homer describes it as subterranean (compare Deuteronomy 32:22, which may refer to this). The Homeric Tartarus is the prison of the Titans, or giants (compare Hebrew Rephaim, Appendix 25), who rebelled against Zeus.
His holy name is Yahweh and Yah is the prefix on the name for what we call Jesus. The Father’s name is Yah who is salvation.
Psalm 35:1-3 (KJV) 1 Plead my cause, O LORD (o covenant keeping god, Yahweh), with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Girdle would be the term for buckler.
In the New Covenant it talks about how He’s our shield; the shield of faith. Buckler is to tie up the loose ends so you won’t be hindered.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul (me as a living person), I am thy salvation (I am thy rescue, safety, physically or morally, saving health, deliverance, preservation of life).
The word soul there has to do with a person being alive or a person being dead. We can call on the covenant keeping God to deliver us in the time of trouble.
Psalm 49:13-15 (KJV) 13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave (hell) from their dwelling. 15 But God (the Creator) will redeem my soul (life) from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
The word hell in verse fourteen is the same word hell in Acts where the Lord would not leave His soul in hell. King David is in hell. He’s in the grave. Use the information in this paper and do your own study.
Psalm 116:1-16 (KJV) 1 I love the LORD (the covenant keeping god, Yahweh), because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. 2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell (the grave) gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. 4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD; (Covenant Keeping God) O LORD (O covenant keeping god), I beseech thee, deliver my soul (me as a person; deliver my life). 5 Gracious is the LORD (covenant keeping god), and righteous; yea, our God (Creator) is merciful. 6 The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. 7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul (me as a person); for the LORD (YAHWEH) hath dealt bountifully with thee. 8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. 9 I will walk before the LORD (Covenant Keeping God) in the land of the living. 10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: 11 I said in my haste, All men are liars. 12 What shall I render unto the LORD (Covenant keeping god) for all his benefits toward me?
We’re talking about the benefits we started talking about where David said blessed be the Lord for all His many benefits.
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
The cup of rescue, safety, physically or morally, saving health, deliverance, preservation of life. When it talks about a cup it’s talking about drinking from the well of salvation.
14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD (covenant keeping god) now in the presence of all his people. 15 Precious in the sight of the LORD (the covenant keeping god) is the death of his saints.
Over time a lot of words lose their meaning. Sometimes when a person sees someone dead they say isn’t that so precious. That’s not what we’re talking about. The word precious there means costly. It cost our salvation. Yahshua, Jesus paid a heavy price to buy your redemption so that you may be able to live in divine health, saving health and die in old age like Abraham. That was the blessing of Abraham but because of the unbelief; the misunderstanding among us by wrong teachers and unwholesome words too many of us have died prematurely before our time. Faith comes by hearing the word and the word rightly divided. The translators have hurt us. We must be doing research. When it says precious in the sight of the Lord, it is saying costly. It cost the Lord. He paid a price that we may have this salvation. It’s like wasting what he’s purchased for us.
Psalm 143:1-8 (KJV) 1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, (O Covenant Keeping God) give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. 2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. 3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul (life, nephesh); he hath smitten my life (soul) down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. 4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. 6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah (Selah means stop and think about that). 7 Hear me speedily, O LORD (covenant keeping god): my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit (grave or hell. Not down in burning hell being tortured in fire like Satan wants you to think). 8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul (life) unto thee. 9 Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. 10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God (my Creator): thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. 11 Quicken me (preserve me in life), O LORD (o covenant keeping god), for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul (life) out of trouble. 12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul (life): for I am thy servant.
Reading this and studying this should give you encouragement that the Lord wants to make you whole. He wants to spare you. He wants to protect you. All the things that salvation means he wants for you.
Psalm 150:1-6 (KJV) 1 Praise ye the LORD (hallelujah to yah. yah is he who is who was and is to come. the self-existent one) . Praise God (El the Almighty) in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel (small drums) and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD (the covenant keeping god). Praise ye the LORD (hallelujah to the lord).
In the beginning when Elohim the Creator was the Word, The Word was with God, the Word became Flesh breathed into Adam who was a dead soul became a living soul. In verse six he’s saying every breath of life has come from the Lord himself.
Isaiah 38:1 (KJV) 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
To me this is very important. It’s bad enough for your relatives to look at you, knowing you have some kind of disease that’s going to kill you. Then your relatives say your mother and father had that you’re going to die of it. It’s discouraging when the doctor looks at you and says because of the problem you have you’re going to die. It’s even worse when the God who created the heavens and earth, the Covenant Keeping God, says you’re going to die. Not only was Hezekiah sick but they were surrounded by the Syrians. I want you to consider these things.
Isaiah 38:2-9 (KJV) 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD (the covenant keeping god), 3 And said, Remember now, O LORD (o covenant keeping god), I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then came the word of the LORD (covenant keeping god) to Isaiah, saying, 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD (covenant keeping god), the God (Creator) of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. 7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD (the covenant keeping god), that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken; 8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down. 9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
Let me explain something here that doesn’t meet our understanding. When he turned, repented, cried out and was talking to the Covenant Keeping God, he was the last person in line of David, that Jesus, Yahshua would come through. He’s appealing unto the Covenant Keeping God and he wasn’t even married at that time. He made a covenant with David that through him, our salvation would come through the son of David, Matthew 9:27. You can be in a position and you can actually believe and have entered into a covenant like in Romans 10:9, if thou shalt make a covenant; confess a binding agreement the rescue, safety, physically or morally to the Covenant Keeping God thou shall be made whole. We need to be able to cry out to Him in a covenant relationship in faith. It’s not a mental exercise. You need to believe in your heart and know Him in a covenant relationship.
Isaiah 38:10-11 (KJV) 10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave (hell): I am deprived of the residue of my years. 11 I said, I shall not see the LORD (Yah), even the LORD (yah), in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
The word there is Jesus. He is looking forward to seeing Yah. In the land of the living from all the prophesies from Genesis on, He Who Was, Who Is and Is To Come is who we call Jesus; who is Yahshua. They expected to see Him back then and looking forward to the time when He would come. When he says the grave it means a pit or grave. It’s also used in Matthew 16:8.
Isaiah 38:12-14 (KJV) 12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD ( o covenant keeping god), I am oppressed; undertake for me.
The word Lord there was changed to Adonai meaning the blesser.
Isaiah 38:15-17 (KJV) 15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul (life). 16 O Lord (Covenant Keeping God), by these things men live, and in all these things is the life (soul, nephesh) of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live. 17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul (life) delivered it from the pit (grave, hell) of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
We got born again but never understood covenant and made a covenant to be made whole. The word tells us our sins are in the deepest sea and remembered no more as far as the East is from the West. If you’re not practicing sin but there is some sin you’ve fallen back into in James 5, says call for the elders of the church say the prayer of faith to heal the sick. If there are any sins they’ll be forgiven. You cannot go out and practice sin and do whatever you want. It says if you do that you will not inherit eternal life. There are some things we do that are sin but we’re not practicing sin.
People think the body is in the grave and the soul is in heaven watching us. Somebody that is dead can’t praise.
Isaiah 38:18-21 (KJV) 18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. 20 The LORD (the covenant keeping god) was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life (days of our soul, living life) in the house of the LORD (the covenant keeping god). 21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover. 22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD (yahweh)?
The Lord let him know to get his life in order because he was going to die. He had something that was going to kill him. He was ready waiting on him for the time when Hezekiah would call on him, ready to repent and He was ready to save him. The Covenant Keeping God is ready to save you.
Some people think they use the lump of figs like a medicine. The fig is a sign of Israel. Remember when the Lord came to the fig tree? He found no fruit so he cursed it. When it talks about us we are grafted into what the Jews had. He put the sign of Israel upon him that he would live and the Son of David would come down through him and he would be the Salvation of Israel.
I hope you look through the scriptures and the definitions and you can see for yourself.
Ezekiel 18:1-4 (KJV) 1 The word of the LORD (the Covenant Keeping God) came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord (Covenant Keeping God) GOD (Creator) ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls (lives, persons) are mine; as the soul (life) of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
It does not say the soul goes to heaven. It says the soul shall die so it’s a dead soul.
Ezekiel 18:16-20 (KJV) 16 Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
17 That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. 18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. 19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. 20 The soul (person) that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
As you see the deception in what the word soul means and how it’s used we need to renew our mind, take out the old way of thinking and think the way the Lord wants you to think. When it was spoken of Adam in First Corinthians chapter fifteen verse forty five talks about how he was made a living soul otherwise he was a dead soul.
1 Corinthians 15:45 (KJV) 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22 (KJV) 20 But now is Christ (the Messiah the Anointed One) risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead (through Jesus). 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The sin nature came through Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:23-42 (KJV) 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God (the Creator), even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus (Yahshua) our Lord, I die daily.
What he’s really saying here is there are religious organizations that have ceremonies to baptize the dead. It’s wrong. It’s a sin. They have misunderstood what is being said here. What it’s really saying is why be baptized if you’re going to be dead? Why are they baptized to stay dead; to remain dead? Christ didn’t remain dead. He was resurrected. Was the use of baptism to remain dead? No. If you’re been baptized you’re been buried with Christ. You weren’t baptized to stay dead. You’re going to rise with Him.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts (beasts there is rotten people) at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
Then if there is no resurrection we might as well go party.
1 Corinthians 15:33-46 (KJV) 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Otherwise people who teach false doctrine.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God (the Creator): I speak this to your shame. 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened (make alive), except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God (the Creator) giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening (a live) spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
As we go through this study you can see when he’s talking about the usage of the word soul it can hurt us in the understanding of what the Lord wants us to do in our lives.
James 1:1-21 (KJV) 1 James, a servant of God (the Creator) and of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
The word patience doesn’t mean you just sit around waiting. It means there is an expectation that what you are believing for is going to happen.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God (the Creator), that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Often we can get prayed for in situations where we might look at the circumstances or feel pain and waver in our faith.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Don’t say the devil made me do it. He’s appealing to your weaknesses and what you want to do. We have to control our flesh. Paul said he kept his body under control. He used severe terms.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
He’s talking about the word of truth. We’ll get to that later.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls (lives).
The engrafted word is able to save your (soul) life. When it talks about naughtiness and superfluity, it means something over done or overlong. If a priest had to big or long of a nose he couldn’t be in the priesthood. We are engrafted into what Israel had before they were divorced because of their worshipping of idols, how they treated the poor, not keeping the Sabbath and all of those things. The word engrafted means attached to us which is able to save our lives.
I hope this is opening your eyes and understanding and increasing your faith. The Lord wants you as a person made whole.
1 Peter 3:18-20 (KJV) 18 For Christ (the Messiah) also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God (the Creator), being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God (the Creator) waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls (lives, eight persons) were saved by water.
He’s not talking about souls going to heaven or hell. Their lives were saved meaning eight persons/lives were saved by water.
1 Peter 3:21-22 (KJV) 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Later on I’ll be doing a teaching on baptism. Scripture tells us by one spirit are we all baptized into the body. The Jews were baptized in water in the name of Yahshua which put them back in covenant relationship. Later we’ll get into more about Abraham. Paul was sent to the Gentiles and he only baptized about four people. He wasn’t called to baptize but to preach the word. We come strictly by faith no works lest any man should boast.
Acts 2:38-41 (KJV) 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (Yahshua the Anointed One) for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive (lambono) the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
The way you save yourself is call upon the Lord.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls (people).
So you see how the word soul is used. (persons)
Matthew 6:24-25 (KJV) 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money).
Paul worked with his own hands. The other apostles lived with whatever money was given to them.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life (soul), what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life (your soul) more than meat, and the body than raiment?
The word life is the word soul.
Matthew 10:23-28 (KJV) 23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. 24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
This is a different word for hell, it is Gehenna, or Geena or the place of burning. Understand we have two lives -when it says kill the body then you are a dead soul. We have a different life also, and it’s written down in heaven. The scripture talks about the souls in Revelation being in a container underneath the feet of the Lord. People get a picture of Him sitting on a box full of souls who cry out: how long before you avenge us. You need to consider, earth is His footstool. Solomon said heavens can’t contain Him. We have a new life hidden in Christ. It has a new name. It has a new name. It’s written down in the book of life. If your name is taken out of the Lamb’s book of life then the new life is destroyed. We’re born again from above.
Luke 6:6-9 (KJV) 6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered (paralytic). 7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. 8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. 9 Then said Jesus (Yahshua) unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save (sozo, make whole) life (soul), or to destroy it?
Religion is really not of the spirit of the Lord. The scribes and Pharisees were well aware in the scriptures that on the Sabbath day it wasn’t considered work going out to feed your ox, donkeys and livestock. You wouldn’t let them go hungry on the Sabbath day. They were watching Him trying to get something on Him, watching to see if he healed on the Sabbath otherwise doing a work.
It would be good if these definitions were hung on a sign or banner around your church so people can have their minds renewed. You need to begin to understand the Lord wants you as a person to be whole. Jesus said, is it easier to take up your bed and walk or your sins forgiven.
Luke 6:10 (KJV) 10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole (sozo, be made whole, delivered literally or figuratively, healed preserve self, do well, to make your life/soul whole) as the other.
Luke 9:51-56 (KJV) 51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. 53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56 For the Son of man (son of Ish or son of Adam) is not come to destroy men's lives (soul), but to save (make whole) them. And they went to another village.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-5 (KJV) 1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God (the Creator), so ye would abound more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God (the Creator), even your sanctification (set apart in holiness), that ye should abstain from fornication (you can’t practice fornication and see the Lord’s face in peace): 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
The word possess is the same word as be in control of your life. Don’t let your sin control you. Don’t let your temper control you. You need to be in control of your own vessel; your own body (soul).
Hebrews 10:35-39 (KJV) 35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God (the Creator), ye might receive the promise. 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul (Habakkuk 2) shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition (destruction); but of them that believe to the saving of the soul (your life).
Paul was an example of believing to the saving of his life (soul). You’ll see the word saving of the life is part of the salvation and saving health.
Ktromai in the Greek means to possess or be in control. It means to get; acquire by any means, provide or purchase. We’re going to see how in your patients possess ye; be in control of your own life.
The word saving health, being in control of your own soul by faith we have exampled by Paul. He wrote it and believed God.
Part of the history of Paul recorded in Acts chapter twenty seven, Paul was under guard traveling by ship.
Acts 27:10-12 (KJV) 10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
Paul had a word of knowledge that this is not going to be good.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. 12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
Acts 27:21-26 (KJV) 21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. 22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. 23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God (the Creator), whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. 26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
Here again Paul believed what he was told. He believed so he was in control of his own life because of his belief.
Acts 27:41-44 (KJV) 41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. 42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
The soldiers are those who are in command of prisoners. The custom at the time if a soldier let a prisoner escape they would be killed.
43 But the centurion, willing to save (heal, deliver) Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: 44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
When the word says possess ye your life that’s what Paul did. He believed - so he was in control of his life. Don’t let Satan take your life from you prematurely. We will look at another place where Paul believed the Lord.
Acts 28:1-6 (KJV) 1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. 2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
Paul knew the Old Testament scriptures. In Mark where the Lord said you handle poisonous snakes they will not harm you or if you drink anything poisonous it will not harm you. He believed God so he just shook it off. Throughout different parts of the world there are very poisonous snakes. Last year in Uganda they have all kinds of spitting snakes. I don’t know what kinds you have in Ghana but the scripture says be in control of your own life. Believe God when a poisonous snake bites you shake it off or kill it. If you drink something poisonous it will not going to kill you if you are in the covenant.
I was in Colorado in the United States years ago. I used to be a supervisor for a parole program. I had some free time and decided to go into the mountains and look around. I caught a bus and went up and was dropped off at the restaurant. Some of the people ran off and thought I was an undercover agent looking for people selling drugs. Back in the 1960’s there were lots of drugs especially in Colorado. I told them no - I was there for a conference on corrections and work with prisoners and paroles. I ordered Shepherd’s Pie. I read about it in a magazine and thought I’d try it. When I was eating it there was some kind of chemical taste. I did not want to waste my money and ate the whole thing even though I could taste something chemical. I walked out the door and a man came outside and watched me as I walked away. It was not a good experience as far as flavor but I had no problems with it. The scripture says if you eat any deadly things they will not harm you - be in control of your own life.
Let’s go back to the beginning where Adam becomes a living soul.
Genesis 2:1-2 (KJV) 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God (Elohim the Creator) ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
There are those who believe they are keeping the Sabbath but if you are not on the same time zone as Hebrew time in Israel you are not keeping the Sabbath. The scripture says keep My Sabbath. I believe there is a two hour different between Ghana and Israel. In part of the United States I live in there is a seven hour time difference. If you go the western side of the United States there is an eleven hour time difference. There are a lot of people keeping the Sabbath and they are not. He says keep My Sabbath. Keeping a Sabbath is not going to save you in the days of the chip, mark of the beast. Because Rome changed the time of the world, there are those who believe going to church on Sunday (Son of God day) is the mark of the beast. Do not be deceived.
The word “mark” means:
Strong’s definition: G5580 xapyua chargma Khar’-ad-mah From the same as G482:: a scratch or etching, that is, stamp (as a badge of servitude) or sculptured figure (statue): graven, mark.
G5482 xapa, charax, Khar’ax From “charasso” (to sharpento a point; akin to G1125 through the idea of scratching); a stake, that is, (by implication) a palisade or rampart (military mound for circumvaliation in a siege)” trench
G1125 ypapco, grapho graf-o A primary verb; to “grave”, especially to write, figuratively to describe: describe, write(-ing). And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Rev 13:17) MARK i.e. a scar
The needle makes the mark: a chip is inserted with a barcode in it, (www=World Wide Web) that is the Greek character for six six six(666). All your medical information and everything needed to be known about you in order that a scanner can be waved over your right hand or forehead, in order that you may buy or sell, get medical treatment, drive, fly, hold a job, etc.
Genesis 2:3-9 (KJV) 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it (set apart): because that in it he had rested from all his work which God (Creator) created and made. 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God (Yahweh the Creator) made the earth and the heavens, 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God (Covenant Keeping Creator) had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 7 And the LORD God (the Covenant Keeping God the Creator) formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 8 And the LORD God (the Covenant Keeping God the Creator) planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God (the Covenant Keeping God the Creator) to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The tree of life was a tree that would support and continue the life which had been imparted. It became the bread of life. We find the bread of life in John chapter six verse forty eight through fifty three.
John 6:45-48 (KJV) 45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 48 I am that bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
That has been corrupted into a doctrine where people think they are eating Jesus which would be lawlessness like drinking His blood. That’s against the law. He said His Words are bread.
John 6:52-53 (KJV) 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
People have misunderstood that. In the Old Covenant it was a sin to eat anything with blood.
John 6:54-63 (KJV) 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
He’s not telling them to literally eat Jesus. That would be cannibalism and drinking the blood would be lawlessness.
In Revelation the second chapter when the Lord returns and we are caught up to meet Him we are going to live in a paradise situation: during a thousand years (the millennium reign), with our Lord as king of the whole earth from Jerusalem. Revelation 20:1-4.
Revelation 2:7 (KJV) 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 22:1-2 (KJV) 1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing (health/healthiness) of the nations (There is no sickness).
The Greek “xulon” means living wood.
Revelation 2:7 (KJV) 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 22:14 (KJV) 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Ezekiel 47:12 (KJV) 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
Medicine means for preserving and restoring health in the day of Revelation 22:2.
In the Columbus Dispatch Newspaper, April 4, 2017 is an article and picture of a employees of a business in Stockolm, Sweden placing the chip in the employee’s hand where the bible states it would be. Also Wednesday, July 26, 2017 the same newspaper had an article of a business in Wisconsin U.S.A putting the chip in their employees. Sunday August 13, 2017in the Lansins State Journal is an article stating you will be chipped eventually.
Acts 4:12 (KJV) 12 Neither is there salvation (rescue, physically or morally, safety, health, preservation or life) in any other: for there is none other name (Yahshua) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Romans 10:10 (KJV) 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
When you receive righteousness you are justified, render or show or regarded as innocent, to be free from sin, power of your life, free from the consequences of your sin in a sin cursed world. The word confession in verse ten means the same thing as the word confess in verse nine. You’re going to assent to, make a covenant to acknowledge, to come into a binding agreement or covenant with the Almighty God with your heart and with your mouth. You’re going to make a covenant for rescue, safety, physically or morally, health, saving health, preservation of your life; your soul. That needs to get down in the hearts of the people before the mark of the beast is required for all the nations. Regardless of denomination there’s only one way, as long as you’re born again. Because of our ignorance of the definitions of the word the Lord has convicted us in our different denominations as long as you’re preaching you need to repent from sin. The scriptures tell us the only way we are going to be overcomers at that time is by the blood of the Lamb and by the testimony. Otherwise overcome by a blood covenant. They loved not their lives unto death. The word testimony means evidence given. It is a judicial, record, report written with your new name in the Lamb’s book of life that you have entered into a blood covenant with the Holy One of Israel. Therefore during that time you’ll be able to overcome the mark of the beast.
Revelation 12:11 (KJV) 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
