If You Can Believe: “I Will” Says, the Lord

The bible says to pray the prayer of faith.

Pray the prayer of faith James 5:15

Not everyone that prays for you is praying the prayer of faith. Sometimes they are praying the prayer of wish and hope and maybe so and maybe not.

I’ve been in prayer meetings where I know the person is not praying the prayer of faith. You need someone who’s praying the prayer of faith and somebody who believes.

Keep calling on the Lord. There’s a scripture where a man wants some bread. His friend said; go away I’m in bed with my family.  The man keeps insisting until the friend gets up and gets him some bread. We need to get ourselves to the place to receive it. Lock your teeth into the word of God and hang on.

Luke 17:1-10 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! Vs.2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Vs.3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Vs.5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase thy faith. Vs.6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say to unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Vs.7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? Vs. 8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Vs. 9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow (think) not. Vs.10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

If you waiver don’t think you’re going to get what you receive. You can also waiver and get up and keep wavering. I like to point out Sarah who is listed in the heroes of faith; Hebrews 11 says by faith Sarah conceived seed. She messed up too. She got her act together. She caused a big mess.

Faith becomes like a servant. So you expect it to do what you told it to do. Help me fully understand this Father. That’s why Peter said silver and gold have I none…Get up. I have God-given authority. Get up. Don’t stop and think about it. Just act on faith. When my son died I didn’t think about it. Don’t stop and think just react.

I don’t like trouble or some of the stuff I go through. You may not like some of the stuff you go through but if you stand and trust the Lord you’ll see things happen that you wouldn’t have seen before. If you hadn’t gone through some sort of mess you’d never see some of the things the Lord does for you. I cringe when I say this because I don’t ask for messes but I do like what I’ve seen the Lord do in the middle of a mess. I wouldn’t want to go back through it. I don’t like being in places where I don’t have any money or food or whatever situation I was in at the time. I don’t pray for a mess but it is nice talking about what He did to get me out of a mess.

Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Sometimes we pray and don’t see the answer right away and we do faint and give up. Sarah got up, moved on and became a hero of faith.

Luke 18:2-3 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: Vs.3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

She’s saying do me justice. Take on my case.

Luke 18:4-9 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Vs.5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her (do her justice), lest by her continual coming she weary me. Vs.6 And the Lord said, Hear what this unjust judge saith. Vs.7 And shall not God (the Creator) avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Vs.8 I tell you that he will avenge them (do them justice) speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Vs.9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Verse nine it talking about individuals that have confidence in themselves because of what they have done in following the laws and not in faith that when they cried out to him he’s going to justify or avenge them. It’s talking about the “insistence” at some point has to be cried in faith. It’s like thinking I’m down here doing everything right and he’s sitting up there doing nothing. This is being self-righteous.

Luke 18:35-39 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: Vs.36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. Vs.37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. Vs. 38 And he cried, saying Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Vs.39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David have mercy on me.

He understood the prophesies of the Old Testament. He couldn’t see the Lord physically but he could see what others couldn’t see. He knew by the word what the Son of David would do when he came. They rebuked him for not holding his peace but he crying out more. You should ignore what everyone else says when they say don’t try. People will say this person tried and they died, this person is in the hospital and this person is in jail.

In France and Germany people were walking around with notebooks keeping track of the charismatic services over there making sure people weren’t praying for others. It’s against the law. It’s called practicing medicine.  A Methodist seminary professor brought students and the police to arrest Jenkins for practicing medicine without a license.

Where ever we’re at even if it’s sleeping under a bridge we should be able to pray in faith for somebody. Pray the prayer of faith. This church world will see like they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be the same covenant keeping God when he brought them out of Egypt. They tried to tell the blind man to keep quiet, shut up. Don’t let anyone shut you up.

Luke 18:40-42 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near he asked him, Vs.41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. Vs.42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

Thy faith has made thee whole, healed you delivered you by thy faith. Struggle; contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Luke 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

Luke 22:30-31 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Vs.31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

He has a revelation that Simon Peter is going to go through temptation. The Lord knowing all things knows we’re going to mess up.  Yet as our loving heavenly Father, he wants to straighten us out. I was talking to someone today and felt like they were taking a beating. He came to set you free from yourself and from your sin. He’s not out to kill you. He’s out to correct you. I’ve been betrayed before and didn’t know it was going to happen.  How would you know your right hand man is going to betray you and get back up?

Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted strengthen thy brethren.

Otherwise he believed this was the Messiah. The problem was him and Judas had the same problem but Judas had a different heart. They thought if this man dies; I’ve given up my fishing business, I’m following this man around, I’m willing to die if we have to go to war (because they thought it would be like the days in David and all the other saviors) and here he’s talking about dying. So his faith failed. He thought this is not the Messiah that he said he was.  This is not the One the scripture said he was. This man is talking about dying. I’ve wasted all this time. I could have been fishing and making money.

Luke 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

Otherwise he’s saying we’ll die fighting. I’m with you Lord all the way.

Luke 22:34-46 And he said, I tell thee Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. Vs.35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. Vs.36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Vs.37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. Vs.38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough. Vs. 39 And he came out and went as he wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. Vs.40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. Vs.41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed. Vs.42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Vs.43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. Vs.44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Vs.45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, Vs.46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

Bullinger bible states it was a great time of depression. How would you like to know what was going to happen to you years from now? Knowing you’re going to be beaten, all your bones are loose, hit with fists, hair pulled out, thorns jammed down in your head. He bore our depression.

Luke 22:47 While he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him (Otherwise to say this is the one. He wasn’t a tall six foot, blond, narrow nosed European).

Luke 22:48-50 But Jesus said unto him, Judas betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? Vs.49 When they which were about him saw that would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? Vs.50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

Here they are getting ready to take him to kill him. One of his men cuts off and ear and he picks it up and heals it. I can’t help every time reading that, I would think I am out of here. Something is not right here. I’m going. You guys carry on. I’m going home. But when people are driven by a spirit or crowd fever it just doesn’t ring in. Sometimes we can start down a path and not turn back.

I hear so many people say they’re going to get their guns and nobody’s going to put a chip in them. They’re going to have their own gardens. I say you can’t pay your taxes. I tell them the only thing you can do is have money credited to you in the bank. They will take away the cash but if you have money in the bank credited to you where they can take out your tax payment, mortgage payment, water and electric. You would need enough for three and half years and have it electronically paid for you.

Luke 22:52-54 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? Vs.53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. Vs.54 Then they took him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.

He escaped premature death a number of times when they wanted to stone him. That was not his time. Now at this point he says this is your time. This is a fulfillment of scripture. For us Satan might tell you this is your time. It’s not your time. Paul talked about he was in control of his own life. He said for your sake I’m going to stick around but I’m ready to be offered up. In your patience possess your soul. In your patience (your faith), when it talks about patience it’s not just sitting around waiting but in your faith be in control of your life. That does not compute in the minds of the church. Devil you’re not taking me out yet.
